175 years ago today - mid Dec 1837

The printing office at Kirtland was destroyed by fire at about this time, and publication of the Elders' Journal ceased there.

    Joseph Smith had the whole printing office and apparatus burned to the ground so the county court could not receive these properties as compensation for their judgment against him.
