In the Fourth District Court, at Ogden, the cases against the following named individuals, for transgression of the Edmunds law, were dismissed on recommendation of U.S. Attorney Charles S. Varian, who gave as a reason that the evidence in these cases was insufficient to put the defendants on trial; ... [52 individuals listed] ...

  1. One of the 52 individuals listed was Charles O. Card (founder of town of Cardston Alberta in June 1887).

    According to The Encyclopedia of LDS History, ed. by Garr, Cannon, Cowan (2000), p.186: "Card was married to Sarah Jane "Sally" Birdneau (later divorced), Sarah Jane Painter, Zina Young Williams, and Lavinia Clark Rigby."
