180 years ago today - Mar 9, 1842
Joseph Smith marries Patty Bartlett Sessions, the legal wife of, David Sessions, as his 9th plural wife. Her daughter Sylvia Porter Sessions Lyon, who had married Smith one month before, was present at Session's wedding to Smith. At Hyrum Smith's office in Nauvoo Lysander M. Davis is "found guilty of slandering the character of Joseph Smith & was bound over to keep the peace under $100 bond."
