Pres. [Joseph F. Smith] Smith incidentally remarked that he had been visited by Pres. A[ngus]. M. Cannon, who complained that a personal difficulty had arisen between himself and Brother B. H. Roberts, and asking an investigation by the First Presidency. Unless some immediate action was taken Brother Cannon could not, he said, sustain Brother Roberts at the general conference, when his name should be presented. ... If no objections were offered by the council, he would instruct Pres. Cannon to go to Brother Roberts and endeavor to adjust matters, which up to this time he had not done. The brethren concurred with Pres. Smith.
