[William Clayton Writings] Clayton was one of several scribes who kept the ``Book of the Law of the Lord.'' For the most part, this large, leather-bound record contains notations of consecrations and tithing for the building of the temple, and 370 pages, covering the period from September 12, 1842, to May 4, 1844, are in William Clayton's handwriting.
