Gordon T. Hyde called and delivered to me the watch of his grandfather, John Taylor, which shows where a bullet struck it at the time of the martyrdom of the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum, in Carthage Jail. He claims the watch really belonged to his mother and that his brother Alonzo had no right to claim it.
