[Benjamin Tolman]

[Received] a fearful handling from President [Rudger] Clawson and Adolph Madsen showing no pity but rakeing me quite smartly, I took it as best I could. Tho[ma]s Wheatly Jr was ap[p]ointed to take charge of the ward, and a number of teachers were put before the people. There was a manifest feeling not to sustain them. I then said I would be found sustaining those over me but thought I should have a hearing.
