Prest McArthur stated that this is something that has been agatated for a number of years and it is not on account of any feelings, but thought from what he knew of the principles of the gospel that Bp. Bunker as wrong and preaching erronious doctrine. Said Father Bunker said he did not believe Adam was our God. He did not worship him as his God and Bp. Bunker said he thought that some of the ceremonies in the Temple were wrong especially the Lecture at the vail. ... Bp Bunker stated that Bro Abbott's statements were incorrect. Bro Abbott's views were that our spirits in the eternal world were begotten in the spirit world the same as we are begotten here and that Adam is the father of our spirits and as he is the father of all flesh he is our father and our Go and the only God with whom we have any thing to do. And that Adam was the Father of Jesus Christ and that all the ceremonies in the Temple are right. Father Bunker told him that our spirit were not begotten by God but was
created out of the elements on the same principle that Jesus made wine out of water, and that Jesus Christ was the Father of Adam and that Jesus Christ and God was the same self person. He asked him if he thought that Jesus Christ begat himself through the Virgin Mary and he answered 'That is just what I think.' ...

Coun Smith asked 'What do you understand by how the spirits come into existence?' Bp Bunker said he could not say. Could not go so deep. Did not know how these spirits were created ... But if Pres Woodruff or any one else preached anything conflicting with what was revealed through Joseph Smith he would not accept it for he thought it would be wrong. In regard to Lecture at the Vail in the Temple it is certainly wrong. It teaches that Eve was an immortal being and was brought here by Adam. Did not believe this, thought that Adam was not a resurrected being. From questions by Coun Cannon believed that Adam was the Archangle and that Jehovah and Michael were persons of spirit, that Elohiem was a person of Tabernacle and the head of all. ... The Lecture says Adam was an immortal being and Eve the Mother of all living bore those spirits in the Celestial World and Adam and Eve came here to form tabernacles for them to dwelling. Adam was made of the dust of the earth but not of
this earth. Prest Snow read from Contributor page 283 bearing upon this matter. Coun Chas. Smith said that the Lecture at the vail teaches us that Adam was created on another earth and that he was resurrected and came upon this earth an immortal being and begat tabernacles for the spirits they had crated in the spirit world. Coun Cannon continued is quotations from the vail lecture. ...

Bro Abbott said if he was in the wrong, wanted to be set right. Said he had done wrong and was willing to acknowledge he had done wrong. Bp Bunker said that there was an evil and that w had done wrong and would quit it. Moved by Coun Smith. Sec by Coun Cannon that it is the sense of this Council that 'it is an error to teach that Adam was not an immortal or resurrected being when he came to this earth. Also that we pray to Adam as our God, and it is wrong to teach that Adam is one of the Godhead' Seconded by Coun D. H. Cannon. Carried unanimously.
