Heber C. Kimball preaches: "I have been to the altar where Adam offered sacrifices and blessed his son and then left them and went to heaven. . . . I have been, as I have already told you, to where Adam offered sacrifices and blessed his sons, and I felt as though there were hundreds of angels there, and there were angels there like unto the three Nephites. I have also been over the hill Cumorah, and I understand all about it."

Second counselor Frederick G. Williams testifies that Cowdery knew a Mormon who could counterfeit coins. Joseph Smith and first counselor Rigdon say Cowdery left Kirtland because he was about to be indicted for manufacturing counterfeit money. In private correspondence, Cowdery would insist that these were conscious lies that LDS leaders should retract, but he also accepted rebaptism a decade later without such retraction.

[At Oliver Cowdery trial] George W. Harris testifies that one evening last fall [see November 7, 1837 FWR.] O. Cowdery was at his house together with Joseph Smith jr, and Thomas B. Marsh, when a conversation took place between Joseph Smith jr & O. Cowdery, when he seemed to insinuate that Joseph Smith jr was guilty of adultery, but when the question was put, if he (Joseph) had ever acknowledged to him that he was guilty of such a thing; when he [Oliver] answered No...

... David W. Patten testifies, that he went to Oliver Cowdery to enquire of him if a certain story was true respecting J. Smith's committing adultery with a certain girl , when he turned on his heel and insinuated as though he [Joseph] was guilty; he then went on and gave a history of some circumstances respecting the adultery scrape stating that no doubt it was true. Also said that Joseph told him, he had confessed to Emma, ...

... Thomas B. Marsh testifies that while in Kirtland last summer, David W. Patten asked Oliver Cowdery if he Joseph Smith jr had confessed to his wife that he was guilty of adultery with a certain girl, when Oliver Cowdery cocked up his eye very knowingly and hesitated to answer the question, saying he did not know as he was bound to answer the question yet conveyed the idea that it was true. Last fall after Oliver came to this place he heard a conversation take place between Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery when J. Smith asked him if he [Joseph] had ever confessed to him that he was guilty of adultery, when after a considerable winking &c. he said No. Joseph then asked him if he ever told him that he confessed to any body, when he answered No.

Joseph Smith jr testifies that Oliver Cowdery had been his bosom friend, therefore he intrusted him with many things.

He then gave a history respecting the girl business.

[Topaz Japanese-American Relocation Center]
Internees were employed at different jobs around the camp and were paid wages ranging from $16.00 up to $19.00 a month for doctors and other skilled workers. Residents could obtain passes to shop in nearby Delta, and some found employment in that community. One man who worked at the local newspaper was subsequently charged "rent" at the camp. On 11 April 1943 James Wakasa, age 63, was shot by a guard when he was standing near the southwest section of the fence. After an outcry from the camp population, guarding procedures changed.

Prof[essor]. J[ohn]. A. Widtsoe presented to the First Presidency the Mss of an elaborate concordance of the Doctrine & Covenants, which he had prepared with great labor and completeness, and offered it as a gift to the Church, hoping that it would prove acceptable and useful. The Presidency thankfully accepted the gift in behalf of the Church, and expressed the belief that it would prove very useful.

[J. Reuben Clark]
Pres. Clark said he had told the doctor of his concern about polluting the blood streams of the people by indiscriminate blood; that the doctor had told him something about the Harvard H. group spearheading this and the breaking down of the color and race distinctions, and that it was a Satanic operation by the Jews to break down blood streams while keeping their own fanatically pure. Pres. Clark said he had not talked with Pres. McKay, but Pres. Smith feels just as he felt that we ought to have our own blood bank. Bp. Richards said he was certainly glad to hear that, that he will go forward on that basis.

[George Q. Cannon]
After this meeting [dedicatory services for the Salt Lake temple], President Lorenzo Snow came up to the office and desired to have a private conversation with the First Presidency. We went into the back room, and he then stated that it had been suggested to him that we should have a meeting of the First Presidency and Twelve, the Presidents of Stakes and Counselors and the Presiding Bishops in the Temple, and clothe in our Temple apparel, and after the First Presidency giving their views and explaining matters, that there should be a general expression from the brethren, and that afterwards we should partake of the sacrament. The suggestion struck the Presidency very favorably, and we decided to hold such a meeting, in the room of the First Presidency in the Temple. ...

President Woodruff alluded to Brother Erastus Snow. He said he wanted to testify to us before the Lord, and the Lord had revealed to him, that Erastus Snow might have been alive and in the flesh today if he had not taken the course which he did at that time; that his influence and his experience were such that if he had taken a proper stand much of that feeling might have been checked; but he joined in with it and lent his countenance to it and for this reason he had not been permitted to remain. ... Brother Lorenzo Snow expressed himself as having the same view of Brother Erastus Snow's conduct.
