Pres[iden]ts. W[ilford]. Woodruff and J[oseph]. F. Smith at their office today, appropriated the sum of $500 in favor of James T. White & Co[mpany]., of New York, in payment of a contract to publish in the Cyclopedia of American Biography, sketches of the lives of the Presidents of the Church, namely Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, John Taylor, and Wilford Woodruff, with their portraits; also pictures of the Nauvoo [Illinois] and Salt Lake Temples and the Tabernacle in S[alt].

L[ake]. City. The sketches of the lives of those Church leaders was made under the direction of the Presidency, by Elder C[harles]. W. Penrose...
