[Heber J. Grant]
For a number of years, some of my friends have endeavored to get me to join a social club that should be strictly 'Mormon,' one of the rules of the Alta Club being 'No Mormons need apply'. I have been opposed to the organization of a partisan club, but I am very much pleased indeed at the organization of the Union Club, which will include in its membership Mormon, Jew and Gentile.
