[Nauvoo Temple] William Clayton was appointed to assist Willard Richards as Temple Recorder, because of the work load was taxing Brother Richards's time.

Note: the correct date should be Thurs.Feb.10, 1842. See Wm. Clayton's Journals, p.90. [Also available at boap.org]. WC was appointed on Jan.12, but did not begin work until Feb.10. (op.cit., p.lxiv).
