This entry is totally erroneous. See Church News Nov.8, 2008, and Joseph Smith Papers Journals: Vol.2, p.194, for the correct date of Dec.26,1842. Scribal error of "child" was mistranslated from the correct word "chill". Emma had been seriously ill at the time. All Historians agree that this was the case.
Thanks for pointing this out. The error lies at the website, "Emma Smith, Woman of Faith" (http://emmasmithmormon.com). Today-In-Mormon-History publishes chronological information from a variety of sites, and does not validate the accuracy of the data. If a particular site is shown to have a large number of errors, it will be removed from Today-In-Mormon-History's database.
