[General] Near Greenville, Indiana--a dozen miles from the Ohio river--the stagecoach horses bolt and start to run away. Joseph and Newel jump. Newel but gets a foot caught in a wheel, breaking his leg and foot. Sidney remains in the coach and continues on to Kirtland, where his nine-year-old daughter, Nancy, is seriously ill. Joseph remains with Newel while he recovers.

How did SK determine that the date for this incident was May 21st? (Ref. HC 1:271-272).

  2. I'm not sure how Kenny came up with that date. But it is his approximation as denoted by the bracketed date "[21]".
