I am directed by President [George Albert] Smith to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of August 10, in which you ask a number of questions.
I am directed to say that as to the Word of Wisdom, the drinking of a beverage made from the coffee bean from which all caffeine and other deleterious drugs have been removed, is not regarded as violating the Word of Wisdom.

ReplyDeleteThose students (at BYU & elsewhere) who are drinking Mountain Dew (loaded with caffeine) and think they are complying with the WOW because it is a cold beverage are not in harmony with the spirit and the letter of the WOW.
ReplyDeleteHow can you tell a Mormon from a non-Mormon?
Delete"By the temperature of their caffeinated beverage" :-)
Yes. It's obviously not about the temperature; but it's all about the harmful substances, chemicals, drugs, etc. ingested.
