Nauvoo, Illinois. Joseph Smith began to proof a new edition of the Book of Mormon prior to its being stereotyped. (1)

Met with a committee convened by President Joseph F. Smith, and read the first five chapters of the prospective publication on Temples. The committee was in session from 10 a.m. to 1.20 p.m., and again from 3 to 5.20 p.m. Following are the names of those present: Pres[ident]. Smith Apostles F[rancis]. M. Lyman, Hyrum Smith, C[harles]. W. Penrose, O[rson].

F. Whitney, and Jos[eph]. F[ielding]. Smith Jr. and Elder J[anne]. M. Sjodadahl and D[aniel]. M. McAllister. The last two are authors of pamphlets on temple subjects. (2)
