Today in Mormon History - Dec 11

Elder F[ranklin]. D. Richards had an interview with Pres[iden]ts. W[ilford]. Woodruff and J[oseph]. F. Smith, Elder G[eorge]. Teasdale being present, in reference to the position of the Deseret News Company in relation to the Deseret News Publishing Company, the latter having leased the Deseret News Office, papers and fixtures on terms that had not been complied with. Elder Richards was urged to continue this matter until some satisfactory settlement was reached.

Gov[enor]. Francis M. Drake of Iowa called on Pres[iden]ts. Woodruff and Smith, introduced by Gov[ernor]. [Heber M.] Wells. He was familiar with the early history of the Church, and said he was a 13 year old boy when the Prophet Joseph and Hyrum Smith were murdered, and distinctly remembered seeing their dead bodies shortly after the assassination.
