[General] Joseph Smith receives a revelation on this day (according to the Kirtland Revelation Book) calling Jesse Gause to the "Presidency of the High Priesthood." When Gause later proves unfaithful, the calling is extended to Frederick G. Williams, whose name is now found in the revelation as recorded in Doctrine and Covenants 81.
