100 years ago today - Jul 7, 1912

Alma W. Richards is first Mormon athlete to receive national recognition. He wins gold medal (high jump) at Olympics, and in 1954 is inducted into Helms national Hall of Fame and U.S. Track and Field Hall of Fame.
