We Republicans endorse Statehood for Utah. Church domination and polygamy dead issues here. Liberal party disbanded last night and passed resolution favoring statehood.

    Both of these issues are still firmly entrenched here in Utah. They have never died!

  2. They were dead enough (at least from outward perception) to gain enough political favor to gain statehood.
