RRL's request for rebaptism was refused at this time, and was also refused in 1949, June 1952, October 1952, and in 1953. He was not rebaptized until Oct.27, 1954. His request for priesthood restoration was denied in 1956. Refusals were due to worries that RRL had joined Fundamentalists in 1951.
