Today in Mormon History - Nov 15

Oliver Cowdery and John Whitmer leave Kirtland, Ohio, for Independence, Missouri, to publish the Book of Commandments, which contains Joseph Smith's revelations. Because of mob action, however, the volume is never completed. (1)

[Heber J. Grant Diary] At 5 P.M. called at Wells' & Emily & I took a ride for nearly 2 hours. While riding talked on old times the Wasatch crowd etc. I asked Emily to marry me and got a most decided refusal. I must confess it hurt my pride as well as my feelings to get "set down on" the way I was, but I should have contented myself by not asking. (2)

[Nauvoo Temple] The Twelve wrote in an epistle to the Church that the Temple's foundation was laid and the walls of the basement were nearly completed. (3)
