[President Wilford Woodruff Journal] 27 A fight between the Lib[eral?] Police & the Captain of Police Parker is Dead And G Albright who shot him [is?]. I spent the day in the Gardo. (1)

Wilford Woodruff reported that Orson Hyde was still in Kirtland on Nov. 27 1836. Hyde probably left for Columbus at the end of the month. By that time it was known that the Whigs had control of the Ohio Legislature, and that the Mormon political allies had little power to help them in Columbus. (2)

[John Nuttle Diary] After dinner Bro Nelson Higgins called on Prest. Taylor with Bro Wm Haywards Bro Hayward wished to obtain his 2nd anointings -- also to be adopted into Prest Taylors family - - he also felt able to go on a mission to England & to obtain his record of forefathers -- Prest Taylor told him to obtain a recomment from his Bp & Prest of stake & he would afterwards consider these matters -- (3)
