135 years ago today - Apr 10, 1878

Br Joseph Young Senr. said that after the Seventies were organized, the Prophet told Brigham that if the First Presidency and the Twelve were swept away the Seventies had all power to organize the Church and kingdom of God and carry on the work in all the world. He ( the Prophet) also, told Sidney Rigdon when ordaining the Seventies, that, “he had promised these men that they should be blessed with all the blessings that he himself had got,” and said he, “put all the blessings on their head, that I have got, or ever had.” And many were the prophetic declarations they made while ordaining in those days.
