A revelation changes the official name of the church, this time to "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." Kirtland dissenters had claimed that Joseph Smith apostatized and became the anti-Christ in 1834 when he changed the church's name to delete reference to Jesus.

  2. Again this is one of many errors Joseph Smith introduced into The Church. It is interesting to note that Joseph Smith himself in his history from April thru October 1830 referred to The Church as "The Church of Jesus Christ." See HC 1:79,124-125. Evidently it did not sink into his stubborn head to call the church exactly these 5 words (22 letters).

However, the good news is that "The Church of Jesus Christ" is still upon the earth today. Its international headquarters are in Monongahela, Pennsylvania. It is the true succession of the restored gospel and is the ONLY correct alternative to the Utah LDS Church. For more information see: www.thechurchofjesuschrist.org
