This was on the requisition of current Missouri Governor Thomas Reynolds, Boggs' immediate predecessor. See HC 5: 433. The attempted murder was committed by Orrin Porter Rockwell on the orders of Joseph Smith.
ReplyDeleteOops!!! Reynolds was Boggs' immediate SUCCESSOR in the governorship of the great state of Missouri - the "show me" state.
