Governor Ford of Illinois issues an arrest warrant for Joseph Smith to be tried in Missouri for the attempted murder of Lilburn Boggs.

    This was on the requisition of current Missouri Governor Thomas Reynolds, Boggs' immediate predecessor. See HC 5: 433. The attempted murder was committed by Orrin Porter Rockwell on the orders of Joseph Smith.

    Oops!!! Reynolds was Boggs' immediate SUCCESSOR in the governorship of the great state of Missouri - the "show me" state.
