[Joseph Smith] Jenetta Richards, daughter of the Rev. John Richards, is the first to be confirmed in England. The ordinance is performed by Heber C. Kimball. Jenetta will later marry Dr. Willard Richards while he is on a mission, which causes a great deal of bickering among the new English converts. The Saints also dislike her because she wears nice clothes (representing the upper class). She takes to wearing her worst clothes.
