The Church established the Maori Agricultural College in New Zealand. It was destroyed by an earthquake in 1931 and was never rebuilt.

The following is according to EOM 3:1015 and Church Chronology compiled by Andrew Jenson:
ReplyDeleteMaori Agricultural College was dedicated on Sunday April 6, 1913, in Korongata, Hastings, Hawkes Bay [New Zealand]. 37 Elders and about 3,000 other people were present. A February 1931 earthquake rendered the building unsafe, and the Church closed the college.
A 130-acre tract of land was originally purchased [at this location] on Wednesday April 1, 1908 ("a deal was perfected") for the purpose of erecting thereon a Church school.
