A greatly reduced missionary force of the Church because of the call for young men in the military forces prompted this call for older couples, men not subject to Selective Service draft calls and, under certain conditions and qualifications, young women to be called as missionaries to replace the depleted missionary force. {1943-July 26-Original circular letter, L.D.S.}
