J. Golden Kimball died on 2 September 1938 at the age of seventy-five when he was thrown from the back seat of a car in which he was riding when it went out of control and crashed into an embankment in the Nevada desert fifty miles east of Reno.

There are errors in the article. JGK was age 85 (not 75 - born 9 June 1853). He was sleeping in the back seat; his wife was driving; they were returning from a vacation; cause of death was skull fracture.
Also there is a question: did she lose control of the vehicle because it went out of control? indicates vehicle disturbance, failure of some component, tire blew out?, steering system component failure? brake system component failure? what was the make/model of the vehicle? too many unanswered questions.
