  2. There was no succession promise. There was and is only succession fact. Sidney Rigdon was First Counselor in the Presidency of the church - Brigham Young was not. Brigham Young was president of the Q12 - he was NOT President of the Church. Brigham Young was a usurper of authority. That is when the priesthood authority of the LDS began to be lost - when BY took his illegal and unauthorized action in 1844 and culminated when he rebaptized all who were misled by him in 1847. The one and only true priesthood after the order of the Son of God was passed from Sidney Rigdon to William Bickerton and continues today with THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST [WHQ: Monongahela, PA].

  3. The following is Joseph Smith's statement recorded in HC 5:554 on Sunday Aug.27, 1843. It is also recorded in Faulring (JS Journals), p.409, Wm. Clayton's Diaries, p.119, and DMQ, MH:OP, p.227. See also DMQ, MH:OP, pp.434-435, 639.

"I prophesy and bear record this morning that all the combined powers of earth and hell shall not and cannot ever overthrow or overcome this boy, for I have a promise from the eternal God."

But this statement says absolutely nothing about JS-3 having the priesthood authority. All it is saying is that JS-3 would live and die a righteous man and be received into heaven, which occurred in 1914. Many have gone far far astray on the correct interpretation of this true and correct prophecy of Joseph Smith regarding his oldest living son JS-3 (1832-1914).

  4. JS-3: (6 Nov. 1832 in Kirtland, OH - 10 Dec.1914 in Independence, MO). Thus, he was 11 years + ~8 months of age when his father and uncle were killed.

  5. Finally 3 things:

    1. a correction to comment #1 - only the erroneous INTERPRETATION that JS-3 was the true successor to JS is "a lot of hot air."

    2. additional reference to comment #3 - DMQ, MH:OP, pp.591-92.

    3. the RLDS church (now the Community of Christ) has become an apostate church. All 3 Joseph Smiths would be rolling over in their graves if they knew what has happened to this once righteous religious organization.
